“Had a lovely 2 weeks in the sun. Perfect house and pool area with everything we needed for a relaxing stay. Alec and Annie were wonderful hosts – helped with booking the Rouffignac jousting which was a fun evening. Great area with lots to see – really enjoyed the night market. “We survived the heatwave thanks to the fantastic pool and outdoor kitchen area – what a treat! Three generations had a wonderful time here at La Perode. Alec et Annie were wonderful hosts – incredibly helpful whenever we needed them but otherwise unobtrusive - Alec was particularly helpful with helping to sort accommodation for the next few days due to a change of plans which we were very grateful for.
We didn’t manage to explore the area very much because of the heat so we missed out on some châteaux – we will need to come back!
All in all a lovely family holiday, beautiful location, a fantastic pool with fabulous hosts & the lovely Nina!

“Just returned from our second visit to wonderful La Perode. Managed 2 weeks this time which was fab, a little more time to chill and enjoy all the facilities - especially the pool. Temperatures were hitting over 40’ on several days but fans in the house, getting up early (boulangerie opens at 07:30 and is a lovely walk), flaking by the pool and top tips on keeping the house cool from Alec and Annie meant we all stayed well and happy (parents in their 80s and daughter expecting in September). Lovely walk along the river and visits to a few of the many local châteaux. Some incredible churches in the vicinity which were beautiful and very cool even if not your usual haunt. Dinner at the campsite was great and a few trips to the village bar and market, everyone happy to put up with some schoolgirl French. Alec and Annie are wonderful hosts, there when you need them but never intrusive. Annie’s plum jam was delicious. Thank you so much, we hope to be back!
