Bedrooms
Bedroom 1 - Merle (Blackbird)
To the left of the main entrance, this large double bedroom is in the old part of the building and boasts original oak beams and an oak tongue & groove ceiling. The decor is traditional French style with a light and airy ambiance provided by old oak windows on two opposite walls, the original tiled floor adding to the simple styling.
Bathroom 1 is adjacent and during the night can be regarded as an ensuite since the other bedrooms are at the far end of the building....
Bedroom 2 - Troglodyte (Wren)
This lower ground floor bedroom is in the newly built extension (as are the other three bedrooms) with access to a quiet outside terrace via shuttered double French doors. It has a splendid four-poster bed and is spacious enough to accommodate an additional single cot / bed, if needed. The floor is tiled throughout, including the ensuite bathroom that has a bath with shower over, toilet and sink.
Bedroom 3 - Pouillot (Warbler)
Designed as a children’s room, it has two single beds (which can be joined together if a double is needed) and space enough for an additional cot - so flexibility is the keyword. This room is on the same level as the main farmhouse, with a tiled floor and modern décor. A baby alarm is available, alongside plenty of children's books to keep your youngsters occupied and amused, with access to the family bathroom via a short flight of oak stairs. Window shutters provide total darkness, come the morning, if you covet an extra hour's sleep...
Bedroom 4 - Hirondelle (Swallow)
The upper floor level offers a spacious and light-filled bedroom with double French doors leading off to a small, private balcony overlooking the lower fields and woods. The large pine double-bed sits beneath magnificent exposed beams - very much a Périgourdine feature - as is the solid chestnut flooring. There is a large, east-facing window which floods the room with light whilst the doors and window have shutters to block out the early morning sunshine, if you so choose.
Large Family bathroom
Situated on the upper landing alongside Hirondelle, this large modern bathroom also serves for Chouette (above) and the lower Pouillot bedrooms. Spacious and bright, it has double sinks (with storage under) a hairdryer and additional shelving, plus of course the large, walk-in power shower to wash away your cares.
Bedroom 5 - Chouette (Owl)
This smaller loft room boasts more splendid beams, albeit at a lower level which makes it suitable for youngsters or a teenager who possibly prefers some peace and quiet. A Velux window (with blind) provides good light and a large futon-style bed provides a cosy nest beneath the beams.
