The Maison du Pain is estimated to be at least 150-years old and after a comprehensive refurbishment and extension now consists of five bedrooms and three modern bathrooms. The well-appointed kitchen and dining area complement a large outside BBQ and dining terrace that is partially covered from sun and rain. It is here that the original bread oven (four à pain) is located, a weekly firing of which once provided the bread quotidian for the farm’s family and workers.
The modern kitchen with large breakfast bar provides a wonderful area for those who like to cook and incorporates an electric double-oven range cooker and five-ring ceramic hob.
An integrated dishwasher makes for an easier life, as does the modern wood / charcoal BBQ located on the adjacent private outside terrace that should appeal to those who enjoy cooking al fresco.
The five bedrooms range from a large en-suite with its own quiet ground level terrace, through a spacious timber-framed room with private balcony to a cosy loft room with exposed beams, so there is ample space for up to nine or more adults and children. All the bedrooms carry the French names of common local birds so you can have some fun with the translations and during late 2021 the property was again extensively assessed by the local tourist board and awarded a 4-star rating.

The three modern bathrooms provide either bath facilities (for a romantic soak) or invigorating power showers to follow your day’s activities, and should you be unlucky with the odd day of rain there is a flatscreen TV with UK (or French) satellite channels together with a DVD player and fast wireless internet. That said, for the puritans amongst you there are also lots of books and games to be enjoyed and there is a piano in the lounge area ready for a singalong if you have a musician within your party.
